Dryanovo monastery

Built during the reign of Tsar Kaloyan, repeatedly destroyed and restored, it became a major support center for the revolutionaries in northern Bulgaria. Dryanovo Monastery has a long and interesting history - attacked, burnt, re-built. You can find quiet spaces in its lovely green garden where you can sit, relax and listen to its story. The monastery is operative, situated in a beautiful gorge 5 km from Dryanovo and 16 km from Tryavna.

It was declared as one of the hundred national historic sites.
